In the West Bank, Palestine, there is little support for young people with disabilities or suffering trauma. WDR helps EJ-YMCA staff integrate such adolescents and children through a holistic approach: physical and psychological rehabilitation, vocational skills training and education and mobilisation around rights. In this current cycle (2022-2025) WDR is supporting various aspects of these programmes as well as providing capacity building to the organisation through staff training: art and drama therapy and up-skilling in trauma counselling. The aim is that young people will be able to overcome hurdles, find their niche in society again, be happy and progress in life.

“For the first time, I feel normal and capable of achieving the incredible things I’ve always desired. My disability will not prevent me from achieving success.”
