MCI President meets President of the Ulster Farmers Union

On Monday 26th February the President paid a courtesy call on the President of the Ulster Farmers Union (UFU), Mr David Brown, a member of Florencourt Methodist Church.

The Rev David Turtle, having been a dairy farmer for 12 years was very much at home talking to Mr Brown and both Presidents covered a wide range of topics during their one hour meeting. Among the topics discussed was that of wellness and the mental health of farm families.

The UFU President also summarised some of the main challenges facing the agricultural industry at this time and outlined how the UFU were engaging with government, their members and wider society to promote and support a vibrant and sustainable rural economy where agriculture is secure and pivotal to its future. 

As  David Brown's two years in Office as President of the Ulster Farmers Union ends on 1st May 2024, the Rev Turtle prayed; thanking God for David's time in Office and all that he and the UFU had achieved during his two years in Office.
