The Great BIG Soul Mates Party 2023
Soul Mates is the annual event held for children aged 9-13 within the Methodist Church in Ireland. We focus on Bible teaching, creativity and fun throughout the programme. We want to see every child learn more about God, the Bible and themselves through energetic and engaging worship, teaching, entertainment and workshops. Our team of volunteers create safe environments where children can have fun and grow in their personal relationships with Jesus.
Our main speaker this year was Bob Hartman, a well-known children’s author and storyteller. Over 200 participants explored the idea of being invited by God during the “great big Soul Mates party”. The children were given the opportunity to respond to Jesus’ invitation to follow him and over 80% of them answered “YES”, 20% said they think they want to follow Jesus but would like to know more… and NONE of them said no.
We were also joined by over 50 volunteers, a large portion of whom were new stewards. We are so encouraged to see this generation rise up and step out to serve God and the church in fun and creative ways!
