A practical response to praying for schools…
In May 2023 IMYC had the privilege of hosting a connexional prayer meeting via zoom. The focus of this meeting was to pray for young people across the world - focusing in on the area of education.
We spent time learning about and praying for our global partners further afield like KING GEORGE VI CENTRE, OPEN SCHOOLS WORLDWIDE, FATHER ANDEWEG INSTITUTE FOR THE DEAF and PHAKAMISA.
We heard statistics and stories from young people, teachers and parents and prayed specifically into those requests - as well as naming and praying intentionally for our own local schools. There were 110 schools named ( you can find the list of every school below).
Dr. Anita Gracie, Senior Lecturer at Stranmillis and General Secretary to the Board of Education Methodist Church in Ireland gave us as a church some very practical examples of ways to get involved with and support our local schools. You can download the pdf now.
