A prayer remembering the loss of those who died in the South Tipperary road tragedies

Compassionate God, we come to you to seek your peace and comfort upon all those who are suffering the sudden loss of loved ones as a result of recent accidents on our roads.

In particular we remember before you Luke, Grace, Zoey, Nicole, Thomas, Bridget and Tom. Come with your grace and strength upon their loved ones and those who are suffering their loss the most. We pray in particular for healing and comfort for the young couple in hospital. May they all know the peace of Christ in the devastation of this time. May they know strength in their weakness as friends and the community support them. May they be sustained by the love of God and the love of all in society.

Gracious God, we recognise the devastation felt by the wider community around Clonmel and Cashel. We thank you for the great outpouring of love within the area and the support being offered within the community. May each one be comforted as they offer comfort. May each one be sustained with hope as they offer hope.

And we remember all who have died as a result of accidents on our roads. Precious individuals lost nearly every week across our land.

We thank you for the blessing of having roads to use. Protect us as we travel. And help us all to exercise our freedoms with responsibility and care.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
