CSR: How many shoes do you own?

‘How Many Shoes Do You Own?’ - A deeply challenging and potentially very embarrassing question posed by this impactful and provocative monologue by Play It By Ear.

The video refers to the Life Skills courses offered by Christians Against Poverty who also work with people struggling with their budgets or worse still in debt.

The Council on Social Responsibility of the Methodist Church in Ireland is presently partnering with the Trussell Trust and Christians Against Poverty.  As this is Debt Awareness Week (20-26 March, 2023), we thought it would be appropriate to focus on the work of CAP although we acknowledge there are many organisations trying their best to help people in similar ways.

So, why not…

LEARN

About 4 in 10 Northern Irish adults have gone without heat this winter according to a recent CAP/YouGov survey.

Learn more about the issues facing people and how you can join the fight on the website capuk.org or following CAP on their social media channels - on Twitter and Facebook.

PRAY

As people skip meals and endure sleepless nights worrying about the impact of the Cost of Living crisis, pray for those in government as well as businesses, charities, churches and individuals as we seek to unite to end UK poverty.

ACT

You can support CAP here - and help them to continue to support thousands of people struggling with the cost of living crisis.
