Global Relationships Team visit Ireland

Brian Anderson gives a tour of East Belfast Mission

In February, the Global Relationships team (GR) of the Methodist Church Britain visited Ireland. GR and World Mission Partnership work closely together, and it was great to spend time with each other in person.

During the visit, we heard updates from GR Partnership Coordinators about the work of our sister churches around the world. We discussed how both teams are supporting world mission, changes to the Mission Partner programme, and how we can work together in the coming year.

The GR team were pleased to have the opportunity to experience some of the Methodist Church in Ireland’s work. They visited East Belfast Mission, where Brian Anderson explained some of the community and reconciliation work being carried out, and Linda Ervine spoke about the Turas programme. Afterwards, they were hosted by David Hines and John Alderdice in Ballynafeigh Methodist Church, where they heard about ongoing Pioneer mission work and plans for the future.

Getting these insights into ministry in Ireland helps Partnership Coordinators to look for ways that MCI might be able to support and learn from our world church family.
