Volunteers Retreat 2023
IMYC hosted a volunteer’s retreat in Dromantine, Newry, during the last weekend of January. It was a time set aside to recharge, reconnect with God and each other, digging into scripture, spending time in prayer and worship as well as having some fun going for walks by the beautifully scenic lake and laughing until we cried during our “late night quiz”.
The Saturday night worship session was focused around John 15. Lisa Best, Jonny Best and Gemma Barclay shared the biblical reflection and encouraged response. Worship was led by Stephen Mayes. The Sunday morning session was led by the volunteers – they were given the opportunity to shape “church” the way they wanted to. Each person had a part to play and everyone really enjoyed the chance to listen and respond to God.

One of our volunteers, Anna Farrelly, had written a song previous to the retreat but felt as though God had something to share with the group through the words of this song, so she sang it for us.
