Education Authority “Shared” event.

We were delighted to attend the "SHARED" event exploring "Perspectives on Faith Based Youth Work" hosted by the Education Authority this morning at The Stormont Hotel.

A number of Methodist representatives were in attendance including President of The Methodist Church in Ireland Rev David Nixon, Tom Wilson (Lay Leader), Rev Dr Heather Morris (Secretary of Conference), Mark Hand (High St Methodist), Emma-Jayne Speers (Woodvale Methodist), Naomi Armstrong (Ballinamallard Methodist), Gemma Barclay (IMYC) and Rev Dr David Rock (The Big House).

It was a day filled with promising and encouraging conversations, exploring how we can continue to support the young people and children of this island.

Many stories were shared, new connections were made and one particular quote that helps to summarise the importance of Faith Based Youth Work came from our very own Mark Hand who stated that "In the mess of life, Faith Based Youth Work makes ALL the difference."
