No fear in love

29 June 2015

We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another. Jonathan Swift. -

In various countries, not least Britain and Ireland, there are people trying to make sense of Friday's terrible events. Swifts comment is so accurate that the name of religion is denigrating the name of God.

Places in Gods world are places of fear caused by those who bring nothing but hatred and anger.

I remember words of John, from his first epistle that speaks so beautifully about the contrast to society that love brings said "there is no fear in love, but, perfect love casts out fear".

And Methodists should always be striving for "perfect love"
