June 2016

From the moment we drove into the Thomas Street Portadown Methodist Church car park, there was a sense of warm welcome and dedicated preparation for Methodist Conference 2016.  Many thanks to Rev Ken and Beulah Robinson for their hard work and sterling organisation, and to all who did so much to make the conference a success.

The President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Rev. Bill Mullally, today offered his condolences to the family of Labour MP Jo Cox. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jo Cox, as well as her friends, party colleagues and constituents, at this terrible and tragic time. Our prayers are also with the 77-year old man who is now recovering from injuries sustained in the attack."

Today (8th June) we took time to say thank you to Stanley Graham, who for 32 years served the MCI as treasurer of the General Purposes Fund. A true gentleman, who has looked after 5 secretary of conference. Today we had 3 there, along with some of the office staff.
