The Excitment is Building with the Selective Travel Management 

Staff from Selective Travel Management, headquartered at Murray’s Exchange in Belfast, donned hard hats and hi vis jackets recently as they took up the challenge of helping to give a new lease of life to an empty landmark building in the heart of Ballymena.

The following Statement was issued by the President and Lay Leader following the result of the Referendum on the 8th Amendment

Like society itself, the Methodist Church in Ireland is composed of a variety of people and opinions.

While the Church has a policy on many topics to help and inform its members, it never advocates how individual members should vote. In advance of the up-coming vote on the Eighth Amendment the Methodist Church, through its Council on Social Responsibility, reminded its members in January of its thinking on this matter.

Statement On The 20th Anniversary Of The Good Friday Agreement

Former President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Rev Brian Anderson has been installed as President of the Irish Council of Churches, a body which represents 13 denominations in Ireland.

In 1983 Article 40.3.3 became part of the Constitution of Ireland, following a referendum. It is now commonly known as the 8th amendment. Since then, in 2013, the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act was brought into law. A referendum is likely be held in May 2018, asking Irish citizens if this amendment should be maintained or removed.
