Overseas Cuts: President Expresses Concern

Pictured above: Rev.Dr. Thomas McKnight

The President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Rev.Dr.Thomas R McKnight, expresses his concern that the UK Chancellor's Spending Review saw the government go back on their election manifesto promise of giving 0.7% of national income to overseas aid. Now, only 0.5% will be given.

Many of the world's poorest people will suffer as a result of this decision.

This was an unnecessary and morally wrong decision.
