Who
we are...
The
Worship Development Project was formed in 1999 as a response
to the perceived need within Irish Methodism for encouragement
and resourcing in the area of worship.
The
Project is jointly funded by the Home Mission Department
and the Department of Youth
and Children's Work. The Worship Development Leader
(Ross Harte) was appointed in August 1999. He operates from
the Mission Office in Aldersgate House, Belfast, but travels
the island running workshops, leading worship and facilitating
the 'next step' for groups and congregations in their worship
life. Contact Ross.
A
Support Group exists to pray for and assist in the work
of the Project. At present the members of this group are:
Rev. Des Bain (Home Missions Dept); Amy Barry (Dublin);
Lindsay Easson (Lisburn); Lynsey Grey (Finaghy); Sharon
Grey (Belfast Local Preachers); Kathryn Harte (Craigmore);
Gareth Johnston (Dundonald); Osmond Mulligan (HMD); Rev.
David Rock (DYCW); Kerry Smith (DYCW); Brenda Thompson (Portadown).
These people (and others) join Ross when he visits churches
and groups if appropriate.
The
Worship Development Project is approaching a change in the
way it works - the three years' of funding are almost up,
so the office will no longer be in operation from August
2002, but Ross and others will still be able to visit your
congregation for evening and weekend meetings.
