We want to help you in whatever way we can... What's your next step?

It may be that a phone call, e-mail or letter to Ross Harte (Worship Development Leader) will get you all the information you need - an idea for a service, the name of a piano player in your area, the book in which you can find that song you love...

Or you may wish to invite the Worship Development Project to speak, run some workshops, etc... Here are some possibilities:

  • "Leading Music in Worship" (in association with ECEC) - this is a ten-session, very helpful course for musicians and others who are interested in leading the musical parts of worship. It is designed to be practical and informal and can be taken over a ten-week period, one or two intensive weekends or a mixture of the two. Minimum 'class' size: 12. We are available to run the course in any area within Ireland.
  • "Exploring Worship" - this is a general introduction to many of the aspects of community worship, packaged as a five-session practical course with Biblical insight, suitable for all members of your church... it can be used over a weekend or a series of weeknights (it ran at ECEC in Autumn 2001 - click HERE for details):
    • The Heart of Worship - taking a look at where your congregational worship is now and where you'd like it to go.
    • Music for the Soul - spending some time developing singing and the playing of instruments for congregational worship.
    • Moving Worship - a time to learn and develop understanding in the use of drama, dance and mime.
    • Picture Perfect - looking at the use of art in worship: banners, painting, craft, etc.
    • More than Words - thinking about how we do readings and prayers in public, along with the use of symbols and silence in worship.
  • Workshops - these are offered on many different topics, such as drama, leading public prayer, music/singing in worship, dance/mime, public reading, the use of symbols/silence, arts/crafts etc... The workshops are ideally suited to a church away day or reflection day (where several can be run on the same day) and are equally useful if members of your congregation would like a 'one-off' evening training session in any particular area.
  • Specialised Training/Advice - we can take up to four sessions with members of your congregation(s) to help them think about how and why they can use their specific talents in worship. Perhaps you would like to start or encourage a music group, drama team or audio-visual crew
  • Quarterly Boards/Leaders' Meetings - we are available to address your society/circuit leadership on any area relating to worship, including the formation of a worship committee or advice on enabling congregations to move to 'the next step'… If we don't have the knowledge to help you, we'll find someone who does!
  • Worship Development Network - find out more HERE.

Please note that these are suggestions - An initial (free) consultation with leaders and interested people is offered to discover the best format for any visit. Ross can then put together a small team, suited to your people and their needs, who will encourage you and help you to develop the areas of worship that need attention. A small charge will be applied to cover the costs of these activities - please click HERE for current prices.
