The World Development and Relief Fund (WDRF) is the Relief and Development body of the Methodist Church in Ireland. Throughout this website you may find mention of the WDRC (World Development and Relief Committee). This is the committee which administers the fund.
Responding to the Burma/Myanmar cyclone crisisWDRF has already sent £5,000 / €7,500 for relief work in Burma . Churches and individuals are urged to respond to this dire emergency via Christian Aid Ireland with whom WDRF work closely. They have active partners on the ground so delays are less likely. Christian Aid partners in Burma are already distributing aid to some of the most vulnerable communities in the aftermath of Cyclone Nargis.

As local partners have been operating for several decades in the worst-affected part of Burma, they have been able to respond immediately with resources already available to them.
