City Centre prayer room! 12th of May 1st June 24-7!
18 Donegal Place beside Easons, was accessorize!
The Methodist Church has involved with the 24-7 prayer movement for a few years now and we have been given an opportunity of using a city centre property for 3 weeks in May for any purpose we wanted and we thought that it would be great to have prayer 24-7 in the city centre for Belfast. So with support from 24-7 Ireland we are endeavoring in a very short space of time to organise this!
Now we only heard this a week or so ago and at very late notice we started thinking about how we could make this happen! We can't make it happen on our own and so we thought we should just put it out there to churches and organisations and see if others catch the vision to help us make it happen!
We believe this is of God and that we are working on his timetable not ours! So would your church/organisation be willing to take on a 24 hour slot during the three week period beginning on the 12th of May and ending on the 1st of June? If we get 21 organisations/churches/communities willing to take on a 24 hour period we have three weeks covered in prayer 24-7. Already to date we have 15 days covered!
How exciting would it be for the churches to have a united praying presence in the heart of this city!
Primarily it's to pray for this city, it's people and needs, believing in God's promise in 2nd Chronicles to hear our prayer and heal our land.
The room is being set up this week and there are two main themes running through it, rest and intercession. The space will give people an opportunity to pray into the City of Belfast and further afield and hear God for it.
The invitation in Matthew 11 Come to me all you who are weary ' will be on the window, as the room provides a rest place in the city centre, a place to encounter and meet with God. We recognise that people will wonder what is going on and drop in and then it's to allow prayer to be a witness to who God is, to give people who might not normally experience it an opportunity to have an encounter with God.
Churches/communities/organisations to cover the remaining 5 days. Let me know asap if you would like a 24 hour slot, (9am on one day to 9am the next day) and then encourage your church/organisation to get signing up for an hour or more to pray! E-mail me Gillian Best
Hosts people willing to give a morning afternoon or evening to be available in the room to explain to those who drop-in what it's all about and ask if they have anything they want prayed for and generally look after the room! We need lots so get in touch asap if you would like to host!
Come and pray! The room is open 9am 10pm for anyone to drop in at any time. After 10pm it will be covered by the churches and organisations who have committed to the 24 hour slot!
