Thank you --- for your presence. I am writing this a few days after my installation and am still feeling overwhelmed by the love and support I felt at that service. So many of you gave up a Saturday afternoon to be present and I hope you all felt as blessed as I did, having been there.

Thank you --- for your prayers. Yes, I was feeling nervous but I also felt a sense of being at peace. I just felt that I was in God's hands and He was in control and I believe that that was the result of the prayers of so many people.

The Power of Prayer is Mighty.

Prayer provides a place to unload burdens and worries. Corrie ten Boom offers a vivid image of this privilege: 'As a camel kneels before his master to have him remove his burden, so kneel and let the Master take your burden.'
Early Christians were urged to 'pray without ceasing; always be prayerful and pray at all times and on every occasion.' Prayer is reaching out to God and in the process He touches you. Many Christians are a lot like pianos -- they might be square, grand or upright but they are no good to anyone unless they are in tune. To stay in tune with Jesus, follow His call to pray 'at all times and on every occasion.' So no matter where we are -- at home or out shopping, in the car or in the shower, in a train or in a hospital, sitting alone or in a room with lots of people -- you and I can be in tune with God through prayer. We can also lift countless others towards heaven and ask our omnipotent God to make a difference in their lives. Prayer is one way God has provided for us to commune with Him.

John Wesley said, 'We can do great things when we pray; but we can do nothing great until we pray.'

SO KEEP PRAYING
