Methodist President Deplores East Belfast Rioting
Added: 26th June 2011
The President of the Methodist Church in Ireland, the Rev. Ian D. Henderson deplores and condemns the recent rioting in East Belfast. The President said "the use of a weapon was a sinister development".
While he acknowledges the continuing work of many in each of the communities affected to bring about an atmosphere of peace and good-will, he feels that in an area of social deprivation, such rioting undermines the work of government ministers and MLA's to attract inward investment.
