Press Conference to introduce the new Methodist President and Lay Leader of the Methodist Church in Ireland

A Press Conference to introduce the President-Designate of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Rev. Paul Kingston and Lay Leader Designate of the Methodist Church in Ireland, Mrs. Gillian Kingston will be held on Tuesday 25th May 2010 at 10.00 am in Grosvenor House, Glengal Street Belfast.

Both the President-Designate and Lay Leader Designate are making history in that the Rev. Kingston will be the first President of the Methodist Church in Ireland to also be the President of the Conference. Up until last year, this position, was held by the President of the British Conference and had been from the days of the Rev. John Wesley, founder of Methodism.

Mrs. Kingston will be the first to hold the Office of Lay Leader of the Conference, a post she will hold for a period of three years.

Both the the Rev. Kingston and Mrs. Gillian Kingston will be installed in St. Mark's Church of Ireland, Dundela, Holy Road, Belfast on Thursday 10th June 2010 at 7.30 pm.
