Methodist President's Letter to New British Prime Minister

Added: 12th May 2010

The President of the Methodist Church, the Rev. Donald P Ker has sent the following letter to The Rt. Hon. David Cameron MP on his appointment as Prime Minister

Right Honourable David Cameron MP
10 Downing Street,
London

Dear Prime Minister,

I write on behalf of the Methodist Church in Ireland to convey to you our good wishes and assure you of our prayers as you undertake your new responsibilities.

Your Government will face many difficult decisions. As a Church we will want to remind you of the need to protect those in our society who are most vulnerable. We will also want to encourage you in all those initiatives which help to build cohesion and good will in the whole community.

Most of all, however, we will continue to intercede for you and those who share with you in government.

Yours very sincerely,

Donald Ker
President, Methodist Church in Ireland
