Running Over

In MWI, we are well known for our hospitality and the many cups of tea we serve, but what about the `Cup of Life`? In Romans 15v13 we read:
![]() |
"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Is our cup half full and desiring more, or half empty and waiting for worse to happen?
Our attitude is everything. Three women go to a tea party, one has a great time, one shared her heart, and the other found the whole thing a waste of time! It all depends on what our ears and hearts are ready to receive.
As Norman Vincent Peale reminds us, "change our thoughts and you change your world."
If we allow the Spirit to help change our thoughts and attitudes we will see the world from a whole new perspective.
In Philippians 4 v 8 we read "Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things."
It all depends on how we look at our obstacles. Changing our perspective calls for a willingness to see things differently. We find the key to developing a positive attitude in 1 Peter 2 v 9
"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light."
It is good to know that we who believe are so special to God. We can sing the chorus we learned as children "my cup's full and running over"
Then, we can embrace His power and share His love in so many ways through the twists and turns of our daily lives.
