MMS(I)'s Mission ConferencesMMS(I) holds 3 conferences throughout Ireland each year. They generally take place in February and so all have now passed. Look out for dates for next year. Nearly 600 Methodists attend these events in total. Global Vision GV08 took place in Lismore Comprehensive School, Craigavon on Saturday 16th February. The keynote speaker was Dr Samson Makhado from South Africa. There was a pogramme of 13 seminars as well as a creche, children's and youth programme. The theme was "Boldness in Adversity". Thanks go to all of the organising committee, participants and volunteers who made the day a huge success with over 400 people attending. Want some follow-up material to some of the seminars? Go to the seminars page. Dublin District Mission Conference The Dublin District Conference took place on Saturday 2nd February 2008, Wesley College. Mission partners Rev. Dr. Barry Sloan and Rev. David and Mrs Rhoda Nixon took part and shared about their work in Germany and Zambia respectively. A full children’s programme allowed families to attend together. Thanks to Rev Conrad Hicks and his organising committee. Midlands and Southern District Mission ConferenceOn Saturday 23rd February 2008, Gurteen College, Roscrea, the Midlands and Southern Conference took place. Samson Makhado was again speaking, accompanied by Dr Alan McIlhenny (Mission Partner). Those attending also heard from Suraya Pakzad, founder of Voice of Women Organisation which is a partner of the Methodist World Development and Relief Fund. Thanks to Rev John Parkin for looking after this year's event.
