Container Ministry

The Container Ministry, based alongside High Street Methodist Church in Lurgan, Co Armagh, has sent over 70 containers across the world, supporting mission and relief..

Packing the container
Packed and ready to go

This ministry began after Rev J Yedu Bannerman from Ghana, who had served for five years as a mission partner to Ireland in the Lurgan Circuit, wished to have some materials sent to Ghana on his return home.

The Container Ministry is made possible by the hard work and dedication of volunteers under the direction of Mr William Carson. It depends on the generous and prayerful support of individuals, groups and Churches.

A Prayer for the Container Ministry.

Thank you, God, that we live in a prosperous land with a temperate climate.

Forgive us when we take for granted your blessings, waste your gifts, dump good food, and are poor stewards of valuable resources.

Thank you for the work of the Container Ministry of the Methodist Missionary Society. Thank you for William and the team in Lurgan and the enthusiasts all over the country who collect and carry. Thank you that this ministry is a “war on waste” at home and a “war on want” abroad.

Thank you for 75 containers which have carried equipment all over the world to churches, schools, hospitals, youth ministries, agricultural projects, bible schools and victims of disasters.

We ask for your continued provision for the Container ministry to re-cycle and provide new products in the service of the world church. Give safe passage by land and sea and through customs at point of entry. Guide this ministry as it changes to meet the changing needs of the world.

We offer this prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ who fed the hungry, blessed the children, healed the sick and preached the good news to the poor.

Amen

Ken Todd
