Finance and Property

The Home Mission team can help in the following ways:

Finance

Mission Ireland grants – to fund, administer, and monitor grants for defined projects of mission beyond the interests of the local Church. Biennial assessments of each project.

Ordinary grants – to fund, administer and monitor grants, without which local circuits would be unable to support themselves.

Special grants and loans – to provide necessary emergency assistance, approved by the Church Development Board Executive.

Manse grants and loans - grants given for: purchase, refurbishment or repair of manses and manse furnishings. Personal furniture grants to ministers in cases of need, and to recommend the amount of the grant given by General Purposes to ministers at stationing.

Car Loans – Car grant/loans to students at Edgehill College to offset car depreciation. Car loans are available to Itinerant ministers on terms agreed by Conference.

Properties

Manses – Home Mission Department recommends and monitors regulations regarding manses. Proceeds of manse sales are received in order to help meet future connexional housing needs.

Properties rented to others – in Belfast, Dublin and Limerick are under professional property management. Home Mission Department liaises with managers and uses income to provide grants.
