Making the Connexion

HOME MISSION DEPARTMENT (HMD) (web)
The Department seeks to provide necessary financial assistance, guidance and encouragement to Districts, Circuits and local Churches in order to enable the development of worship, witness and leadership. The Home Mission Forum is appointed by Conference to act as a "think tank" for the Methodist Church in Ireland.

Give thanks for:

• the opportunity to work with people from all branches of the Church of Christ in seeking to join in God's mission together
• many prayer rooms opening regularly in Churches throughout Ireland
• the work of local Home Mission secretaries encouraging mission in their local Districts

Pray for:

• the ongoing work of the Forum consulting with Churches and Districts to promote team ministry
• wisdom to know how best to respond to God's leading into pioneering new forms of ministry and fresh expressions of Church
• prudent use of the Department's funds in meeting existing and developing needs

Prayer

Lord, you renew this day as a gift to be enjoyed and used. May I be enabled to use it so that your gifts in me may be of
service to those who need to benefit from them. May I be guided to those people and places today where I can be your
instrument of encouragement and grace.
May I be renewed in body and spirit throughout this day in readiness for your gift of tomorrow. Amen
