Night and Day of Prayer
An invitation to every Methodist church to pray for the Church in mission.
In September 2009 the Church was challenged once again to ‘inconvenient prayer'. To take up the call to ‘take no rest, all who pray to the Lord.' The vision was, churches all across this land praying at the same time for this nation, north and south. Around 60 churches/circuits took up the challenge. The feedback was so positive that we have decided to go again! So this time the challenge is 24 hours of prayer with a mission focus, ending again with All-age worship.
The weekend coincides with Home missions Sunday and so we ask God to give us his heart for the churches, community, families, workplaces, schools and world we belong to and to challenge us to examine our presence in those places.

The purpose of these prayer pods is to make being part of Night and Day as accessible as possible for churches.
Each prayer pod includes, instructions on how to create your prayer area for each issue, a list of things you will need and print outs with information or prayer points, prayers etc.
They can be used exactly as they are. Adapt them to suit your space and context. Use all six or choose a couple to focus on. There is no right and wrong way.
Please let us know that you are taking part in the Night and Day of prayer by signing up.
We are inviting you as churches to pray around five themes:
If you have never had a prayer room in your church before check out the 24-7 Connect guide which will give you the basics of doing a prayer room or contact the 24-7 prayer team, Beth and Jonny by email or on 07809491181.
We have also included all-age worship suggestions to use in your Sunday morning service and plan to upload some children's prayer ideas.
