Star Stories
DYCW’s Children’s Department under Janette McCormick and Nicky Blair have been developing the concept of STAR STORIES over the last few years. The interactive programmes are specifically designed for use in schools and hosted in situ, and each session lasts around an hour to an hour and a half.
FOLLOW THE STAR: Is an interactive telling of the Christmas story for children under 9 and specifically suited to children in P1 to P3. It is designed in such a way to provide the opportunity for children to engage in the story of the first Christmas through drama, games, stories, puppetry, art and craft. Please consider bringing along your Sunday School, Kids Club, GB Explorers and BB Anchor Boys etc. to this alternative Christmas outing in December this year.
ROLLED AWAY: Is an interactive telling of the Easter story for children at Key Stage Two. It is designed in such a way to provide the opportunity for children to engage in the story of Easter through drama, games, stories, puppetry, art and craft.
SPLISH SPLASH SPLOSH: Is an event that DYCW runs specifically for children in Special Schools that allows them to experience and learn the story of Noah’s Ark. We are introduced to Noah’s wife, who takes us through the story in Genesis 6-8, and then Noah who builds an ark around the children! With a song, some puppets, dressing up clothes and lots more, the children we have will get to experience the story up to twelve times.
IN THE BEGINNING: Similar to Splish Splash Splosh, this program is also developed specifically for children in Special Schools and allows them to experience and learn the story of Creation.
